The impossible is just what you have not done yet. There are so many beautiful and powerful aspects of yoga in inversions: compassion, breath, balance, spirituality etc. It is possible to keep these and incorporate efficient powerful acrobatic techniques as well. In this workshop, we will share what we have learned over decades of training with many different acrobatic masters. There are three main aspects of a press handstand that we will break down in various drills that may seem weird and unrelated until you start to put them together. 1. Extending arms into the floor, 2. hollowing the ribs and 3. bringing the legs close to the body are the three magic seeds that grow a press handstand. The most valuable aspect of this class is not what you will do in 90min, but the drills you will take home that can get you there over time. We will end the class with some decompression and self care for the wrists and upper body so you can keep training smart for the long run. To join this class, you should be able to attempt a handstand without a spot in the middle of the room.
Class time devoted to lecture: 11-20 minutes
