Love is a four letter word like Yoga: many people use it but few can agree on how to define it. Love has many aspects and many levels. We will use the practices of Thai massage and therapeutic flying to explore the teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh: Metta (kindness), Karuna (compassion), Mudita (joy) and Upeksha (inclusion). These ideas were born from Buddhism thousands of years ago and yet are still very relevant to our modern human experience. Thai massage is a sacred practice that involves a mix of assisted yoga stretches and rhythmic pressure along meridians to restore alignment and energetic harmony for both the recipient and practitioner. After grounding through this practice on the Earth, we will explore the joy of therapeutic flying finding assisted stretches in the air using gravity as the therapist. These practices offer us very tangible ways to embody the principles of Thich Nhat Hanh and touch on the innate bliss and love that is our human nature. Join us to learn these simple and practical tools that can help make this world a better place for everybody in it. . Pre-Reqs are the desire to be kind and the ability to speak your needs to others. No partner needed, smiles are encouraged.
Class time devoted to lecture: 11-20 minutes
